Audit Logs
How Are Audit Logs Accessed?
To access audit logs, click "Warehouse Optimization" from the main dashboard, then click "Audit Logs." Entries appear in chronological order with the most recent log first.
Filters
Several filters are available at the top of the Audit Logs page:
- Date range — Defaults to the last week. Adjust the range if no settings have changed recently. The date picker supports custom ranges as well as presets: Last Month, Last 3 Months, Last Year, and Year to Date.
- Users — Filters by users who have made changes. Select one or multiple users.
- Warehouses — Filters by Warehouse Optimization-registered warehouses. Select any number of warehouses.
- Account — Filters by connected Snowflake accounts.
- Labels — Filters by warehouse labels. Select specific labels or warehouses with no labels.
What Events Generate Audit Logs?
Warehouse Optimization creates an audit log when a user changes any of the following warehouse settings:
- Warehouse defaults — Changes to warehouse size, auto-suspend, and min/max cluster values.
- Optimizations — Enabling or disabling downsizing, upsizing, and multi-cluster optimizations. Enabling or disabling all optimizations for a warehouse. Changing the aggressiveness slider position.
- Custom rules — Adding, updating, and deleting a custom rule.
- Backoff configuration — Adding, updating, and removing backoff criteria.
- Connecting warehouses — Adding and removing warehouses connected to Warehouse Optimization.
What Details Does Each Audit Log Entry Include?
Each entry provides the following details:
- Timestamp — The date and time the change was made.
- User — The identifier (username or email) of the individual who made the change.
- Warehouse name — The Warehouse Optimization-registered warehouse the change was applied to.
- Action — A brief description of the change, such as "Changed auto suspend value."
- Description — An explicit description of the changes applied to the warehouse.
Example:
warehouse-name was updated by user@organization.org. Changes include: warehouseSize = Small. User-initiated action.
In this example, the user user@organization.org changed the warehouse size to Small.
